Ecuador Global Grant Water Project

Bill Stumbaugh, Ph.D., will deliver a presentation focusing on the progress of the Las Mercedes Community Water Project and other projects involving the Rotary Club of Bahia de Caraquez, Ecuador.  He will describe the role and activities he performs as a Rotary Foundation Cadre and discuss the growing collaboration between Rotary and the Peace Corps.

Bill is bilingual in Spanish and has had a variety of successful experiences working with diverse groups of people. He is a charter board member of a community foundation to provide college scholarships for at‑risk high school students. Bill is a former Chairperson of community collaborative to enhance health and social support for children and families. 

Bill has been a very active Rotarian since 1985 serving in a variety of roles in many community and international humanitarian projects.  In 2016-2017, he served as club president in Bahia de Caraquez Rotary Club in Ecuador.  The following year, Bill served as Assistant Governor.  He is the project coordinator for several Global Grant projects.     

Bill earned a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Educational Administration from the University of California.  He recently retired after more than thirty years in progressively more responsible public school leadership positions: superintendent of two K‑12 systems, several years in central office administration, and twelve years as principal and teacher.
