District Governor 5190 Roberta (Berta) Pickett
Message from the new DG

District Governor Roberta "Berta" Pickett will join us on August 10th for her "official club visit", to share the 2020-21 District 5190 vision, mission, and goals and how they integrate with Rotary International's vision, strategic priorities, and theme. She will share a "Rotary moment" that shifted her from being in Rotary to being a Rotarian. In addition to talking a bit about how our experience in Rotary is a journey, she will present the Quiet Rotarian Award and the new Heart of Service Award to two deserving club members. With the economic and social impacts of COVID19, hear why the world needs Rotary's people of action more than ever to turn challenges into opportunities.

Daughter of a Past District Governor, Berta has been in Rotary since 2002. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Amador Upcountry, which meets in Volcano, CA. Berta served as Club President in 2012-13. At the District level, Berta served as a RYLA and REGL counselor, Assistant Governor, and District Training Chair.  Berta is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow as is her husband Dave. She is also a member of both the Paul Harris and Bequest Societies.

Berta earned degrees in Psychology and Organizational Management, and had two major careers – 25 years in telecommunications and another 20 years in leadership development, coaching & training.  In 2010, she published a book called “Hot, Sweaty, and Happy: Lessons Learned along the Trail”.  Berta and husband Dave live in the mountains where “Every day is an adventure.”
