JOIN Inc., a 501(c)(3) community benefit organization and workforce development solution agency for Nevada, is changing the workforce development landscape through a ground-breaking new initiative that connects motivated young people with local businesses through paid work experiences and a variety of other work-based learning activities.  Two of the driving forces behind the launch of Career Bound NV, a Division of JOIN Inc., will showcase the launch of a new career development pilot program that is moving high school students one step closer to a high-skill, high-demand, and living-wage career pathway.  Learn how students are applying their classroom knowledge and learning critical employability skills...while getting paid!  

Denise Castle, JOIN Inc.'s Chief Executive Officer, has spent the past 14 years working for non-profit organizations in Nevada which sparked her passion for workforce development. In her role, Castle advocates for innovative training and employment solutions that help Nevadans get on a pathway to prosperity.

Dr. Dana Ryan, principal of KMG Strategies, has a breadth of experience in industry, non-profit and education. As a strong voice for workforce development programs that strengthen Nevada's skilled talent pipeline, Ryan is involved in many community initiatives that help translate employer needs into training and opportunities for Nevada’s youth.

Castle and Ryan will discuss why work based learning is a crucial model for Nevada’s economic prosperity and how Career Bound NV is the workforce development solution Nevada needs.
