Elliott Parker is a professor of economics at UNR, and during his 26 years in Reno he has served as associate dean, department chair, journal editor, faculty senate chair, president of the Northern Nevada International Center, and director of the university’s core curriculum. In addition to three dozen refereed academic research papers, he has published a textbook and almost 80 newspaper columns on economics. He recently wrote a textbook, The Comparative Economics of Global Growth and Inequality. Last year, the University Press published Nevada and the Great Recession: Looking Back, Moving Forward, a book which Elliott coauthored with his wife, Kate Marshall.
