Rotary Club of Reno Masters in Nursing Science Scholar

A Uganda native, Robert Kamugisha has a bachelor’s degree in nursing science, is a Registered Nurse, and is currently completing his academic work for a master’s in nursing science (MSN) through Uganda Christian University in Kampala, Uganda and Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Originally qualified in 2007 as a registered nurse, Robert was Head of Nursing and Midwifery at Bwindi Community Hospital and has had experience working in a variety of positions including pediatrics, general nursing, midwifery, supervising satellite health centers as well as administrative functions. Robert has served as a part time tutor at the Uganda Nursing School Bwindi and assumed full time responsibility as Registrar and tutor effective January 1, 2018. 

The Rotary Club of Reno and Rotary Club of Kihihi, Uganda have been partners with The Rotary Foundation in sponsoring work at the Uganda Nursing School Bwindi (UNSB). Robert was selected as a MSN scholar and has completed his academic studies at Uganda Christian University and will complete a final capstone six-week module at Bethel University in April.

Upon return to Uganda in May he will commence a three-year commitment to teach at UNSB. This is Robert’s first trip out of Uganda.
