The Third Revolution of Work and Education: What’s the Liberal Arts Got to Do with It?

Debra Moddelmog is Dean of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno, the largest college at the university. She joined UNR in August of 2016 after an extended career at Ohio State University, where she served in a number of administrative roles, including as chair of the Department of English, Associate Dean of Humanities, and Director of the Diversity and Identity Studies Collective. She is also a Professor of English and a scholar/teacher of twentieth-century U.S. literature.

Since coming to UNR, Dean Moddelmog has focused on increasing the diversity of the faculty, staff, and curriculum; advancing student success; developing interdisciplinary programs; engaging alumni; forming professional and active connections between the college and the community; and advocating passionately for the value and relevance of the liberal arts in our 21st-century technology-driven, globally connected world.
