Dr. Randall Todd, Washoe County Health Department

Randall Todd is the Division Director for Epidemiology and Public Health Preparedness at the Washoe County Health District.  This position also includes oversight of Vital Records and Emergency Medical Services.  Dr. Todd has held this position since 2005. 

Prior to his arrival in Washoe County, Dr. Todd served as the Nevada State Epidemiologist from 1993 to 2005.  During this time he had programmatic responsibility for communicable disease investigation as well as the HIV, STD, Immunization, TB, Cancer Registry, Tobacco Control, Diabetes, and Breast and Cervical Cancer programs. 

Prior to coming to Nevada, Dr. Todd served as the Director of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention for the Kent County Health Department in Grand Rapids Michigan.  Dr. Todd earned a DrPH in preventive care from Loma Linda University in 1979 as well as a MPH in health education from the same institution.  He currently serves on the adjunct faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno where he teaches a course on outbreak investigation.
